Flaster Greenberg, a Delaware mid-sized commercial law firm with New Jersey offices in Princeton, Northfield, and Cherry Hill, said its privacy and cybersecurity group is expanding to include artificial intelligence.

The firm’s expanded group will help clients navigate the legal and regulatory challenges that arise at the crossroads of technology, innovation, and data. The group’s attorneys offer business-focused counsel to companies of all sizes — from startups to global enterprises — across a spectrum of industries as they develop, adopt, and manage technology in a rapidly evolving digital environment.

Peter T. Wakiyama joined Flaster Greenberg’s intellectual property department and as leader of its cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI practice group earlier this month. He has more than 30 years of experience advising clients in intellectual property, technology transactions, privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, across multiple industries, for both domestic and international clients.

“As AI continues to reshape the way businesses operate, our priority is to help clients pursue new technologies in a manner that balances risk and reward in a ratio that aligns with each client’s level of comfort and overall objectives,” said Wakiyama. “This is achievable by establishing a solid legal foundation and frameworks designed to protect our clients, while at the same time allowing them to harness the power and benefits of new technologies.”

As AI rapidly transforms business operations, Flaster Greenberg’s team tries to help clients understand and address the legal and regulatory implications of developing, deploying, and using AI tools and technologies.
