The Qatar Investment Authority is partnering with Blue Owl Capital Inc. to finance and invest in data centers, marking the sovereign wealth fund’s latest bet on the booming artificial intelligence sector.
The new digital infrastructure platform will launch with more than $3 billion in data center assets, the firms said Thursday, with plans to expand as demand for computing power and data storage accelerates. The QIA is committing about $1 billion in new equity to the venture, according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential information.
