'With this incredible panel, we expect an exciting conversation about the business of logistics in our area.'
Local transportation leaders will gather next month to discuss the future and economics of logistics in an ever-changing technological world.
Presented by the Maritime Alliance, a maritime industry advocacy group, the fourth annual On the Horizon breakfast will be held Oct. 9 at the Hotel Haya in Ybor City.
Topics this year will include the economics of transportation and logistics in the Tampa Bay region. Panelists include Tampa International Airport President and CEO Michael Stephens, Florida Department of Transportation District 7 Secretary Justin Hall and CSX Florida Zone Superintendent and senior Port Tampa Bay representative Tony Ferrera.
The group will discuss how materials and people move through the region and how disruptive technology is changing the industry. That includes the impacts of artificial intelligence.
“With this incredible panel, we expect an exciting conversation about the business of logistics in our area,” said Bill Kuzmick, President of the Maritime Alliance. “We look forward to hearing how these organizations work together on a daily basis, as well as all the exciting things coming in the future.”
Only 200 tickets to the event are available, and it’s expected to sell out. Tickets can be purchased online.
The event opens at 7:30 a.m. for networking at Hotel Haya, located at 1412 E. 7th Ave. The panel discussion begins at 8 a.m. and will conclude at 9 a.m.
