Wadhani AI aims to embed AI into critical public systems, transforming educational access, healthcare and agricultural systems.
“AI has demonstrated its transformative power in many parts of the world, so our challenge now is ensuring those benefits reach communities where they can change lives most profoundly,” explain Romesh and Sunil Wadhwani, Co-Founders of Wadhwani AI Global.
“We’re building an institution that partners with governments and innovators to make AI a tool of genuine opportunity.”
Wadhani has previously launched an AI-powered oral reading fluency tool to more than six million children in Gujarat and Rajasthan in India. Wadhwani AI India will continue to run separately from the newly-formed Wadhani AI Global.
Wadhani AI Global has named Nakul Jain as its new CEO and Managing Director, bringing 14 years of experience in AI, strategy, and international development.
“The real challenge isn’t just creating AI models – it’s ensuring they address urgent needs in healthcare, early childhood education, food systems, and more, actually reaching the people who need them,” Jain adds. “We’re here to close that gap through advisory expertise, technology innovation, and building ecosystems that last.”
The ETIH Innovation Awards 2026
The EdTech Innovation Hub Awards celebrate excellence in global education technology, with a particular focus on workforce development, AI integration, and innovative learning solutions across all stages of education.
Now open for entries, the ETIH Innovation Awards 2026 recognize the companies, platforms, and individuals driving transformation in the sector, from AI-driven assessment tools and personalized learning systems, to upskilling solutions and digital platforms that connect learners with real-world outcomes.
Submissions are open to organizations across the UK, the Americas, and internationally. Entries should highlight measurable impact, whether in K–12 classrooms, higher education institutions, or lifelong learning settings.
Winners will be announced on 14 January 2026 as part of an online showcase featuring expert commentary on emerging trends and standout innovation. All winners and finalists will also be featured in our first print magazine, to be distributed at BETT 2026.
