Trackhouse Aprilia MotoGP rider Ai Ogura will miss this weekend’s Indonesian Grand Prix, following his heavy crash two races ago at Misano.

The accident occurred at the start of the Sunday race and was estimated at 260 km/h, with the Japanese rookie coming away with a right-wrist injury.

Although he arrived for his home race at Motegi last weekend saying he was at 90% capacity, Ogura ultimately had to withdraw during the weekend. He did manage to finish ninth in the sprint, but the discomfort was too great for him to start the grand prix as hoped.

Ogura has unfortunately not recovered sufficiently to compete in Indonesia. Despite travelling to Lombok for the race, he will return to Japan for further treatment.

The 24-year-old is the second Aprilia rider to withdraw from the Indonesian Grand Prix, with factory man Jorge Martin recovering from the broken collarbone he picked up in a first-corner accident at the Motegi sprint.

Martin underwent surgery in Europe this week, but no timeline has yet been set for his recovery.

World champion Martin has had multiple injury layoffs this season, while Ogura missed both the British and Aragon weekends following a practice accident on the first day’s action at Silverstone.

Their latest injuries mean Marco Bezzecchiwho may be riding in pain after getting caught up in the Martin accident last weekend – will be the solo factory Aprilia representative, while Raul Fernandez will fly the flag for Trackhouse alone.

Fernandez will run a Gulf livery similar to that seen on the Trackhouse bikes at the start of the season. The team will run the Gulf colours both this weekend and at the Malaysian Grand Prix later in the year.

摘要

Ai Ogura, Aprilia MotoGP rider, will miss the Indonesian Grand Prix due to a right-wrist injury sustained from a high-speed crash at Misano. Despite showing 90% capacity at his home race in Motegi where he finished ninth in the sprint, the pain was too severe for him to compete further. Ogura has returned to Japan for additional treatment. Jorge Martin, another Aprilia rider, also withdraws due to a broken collarbone sustained in an earlier accident; no recovery timeline is set yet. Marco Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez will represent Aprilia this weekend with similar Gulf livery as seen at the season opener.
